USPA NEWS - Each year at the end of August, Air Show Atlantic takes to the sky over Atlantic Canada, providing thrilling family entertainment that will amaze anyone who has the privilege of attending.
The 2024 Air Show Atlantic was held at 14 Wing CFB Greenwood, in Greenwood, Nova Scotia on the weekend of August 24th and 25th.
The 2024 Air Show Atlantic, has been described as possibly the best production in 25 years. As the Royal Canadian Air Force has embarked on a year long celebration of their 100th anniversary, the 2024 Air Show Atlantic saw performances from the Royal Air Force Red Arrows, the United States Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Canadian Forces CF-18 Demonstration Team, and many other incredible performers. The common resolve among all of this year's attending performers was to celebrate the 100th anniversary milestone.

On August 22nd, Media Day, Executive Director of Air Show Atlantic, Colin Stephenson took time out of his busy schedule to speak with USPA 24 News sharing his insights on the 2024 Air Show Atlantic production. I asked Colin Stephenson what role that Air Show Atlantic 2024 will play in celebrating the Royal Canadian Air Force 100th anniversary. He started by explaining that the RCAF100 is a time to reflect on the last 100 years of service and contributions from Royal Canadian Air Force along with looking to the the next 100 years of the vital role the RCAF plays in protecting Canadians and Canada's interests around the world. Stephenson went on to tell me that Air Show Atlantic has 4 words that they aspire to live by: "HONOR, EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, and INSPIRE." Air Show strives to HONOR our RCAF for everything that they have to keep us safe, EDUCATE the audience on what the RCAF does at home and around the world, ENTERTAIN which allows the RCAF to demonstrate the capacities of it's assets by showcasing them off in breathtaking air demonstrations, and to INSPIRE not necessarily for recruitment, but also to promote interest in other fields in aviation.

With the 2024 Air Show Atlantic now in the history books, it is clear that 14 Wing Greenwood rolled out the red carpet for Air Show Atlantic to bring the entertainment that would provide the ingredients needed to bestow an amazing RCAF100 celebration. This years line up of Military and Civilian performers were willing to travel thousands of miles in some cases to participate in the celebrations and supply superior air demonstrations and the largest static display in recent memory. The 2024 Air Show Atlantic attracted a sold out audience on Saturday and a near sold out audience on Sunday. Happy RCAF100, best wishes for 100 more, and most of all thank you for your service!
